  12. I recently purchased a USR 28.8 Vi modem and I am perfectly happy with
  13. the hardware.  I am using Windows 95 and am satisfied with the fax
  14. software (MS Exchange) that comes with it; however I do not have a
  15. voice app so I went ahead and installed the "QuickLink" software that
  16. comes with the modem in order to use the answering machine functions,
  17. even though I thought this might cause a problem with my MS Exchange
  18. setup.

  20. Now in all fairness I must say that my problem might pre-date the
  21. installation of "QuickLink" since I do not fax much and when I do fax
  22. I rarely fax to someone who would tell me it came out all wrong.

  24. Here is the problem.  If I fax directly from a document (by printing
  25. to the MS Fax driver) the document faxes just fine.  But if I fax THE
  26. SAME DOCUMENT, by using the "compose a new fax" option in Windows 95,
  27. the document gets truncated into a one-page document and the print is
  28. overlapping.  This problem persists even though I have completely
  29. un-installed "QucikLink"!

  31. After visiting the MS Knowledge Base I have tried all kinds of
  32. different setting for the fax driver, particularly different spooling
  33. options, all to no avail.  I have completely un-installed "QuickLink"
  34. and MS Fax and then reinstalled MS Fax yet the problem still persists
  35. (this also makes me think the problem might pre-date the installation
  36. of "QuickLink").

  38. So even after un-installing "QuickLink" entirely and reinstalling MS
  39. Fax the problem still persists.  If  I print a document to the MS Fax
  40. driver (BTW you loose the "add a file" option when you do this) the
  41. document faxes fine,  the documents look fine in preview and will
  42. print fine, but if I try to fax THE SAME DOCUMENT from exchange it
  43. becomes a jumbled one page mess.

  45. Can anyone out there explain this situation???
